The Social Welfare Council (SWC) Mid-Term Evaluation of the Project was successfully conducted from 25 to 26 July 2025 (9 to 10 Shrawan 2082) in Sahid Lakhan and Gandaki Rural Municipalities. The purpose of the visit was to review the implementation status of project activities, observe coffee and vegetable farming practices, interact with local farmers, and assess financial and administrative procedures.
On the first day, the team visited the Srijansil Coffee Cooperative nursery and coffee pulping center, observed coffee orchards, and interacted with cooperative members. A formal meeting was then held with the Chairperson and Agriculture Office of Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality to discuss project progress. Later, the team visited the Jamiswara Cluster to interact with coffee farmers and observe their orchards, followed by a project briefing and staff interaction at the MPMT office.
On the second day, the evaluation team visited the Raniswara, Maskichhap, clusters to observe coffee orchards and interact with farmers about their experiences. A focus group discussion was held at the MPMT office with lead farmers, social mobilizers, OJT students, and group representatives to share feedback and lessons learned. In the afternoon, the team visited the Phujel cluster for additional field observations and farmer interactions concluded the field evaluation and returned back to Kathmandu.
